The billy elliot show is made of a lot of good features.

 

Costumes:

In this show, there are a lot of costumes, for example : disguises of coal miners, of CRS, of policermen but also many outfits of many colors for the dancers...

Thanks to these disguises, the public can more easily understand the context of the history and be impressed.

 

Songs/dances and music:

 

In this musical, we can discover many songs, musics and dances. For example, there is a spectaculary scene where we can see youngs dancers and Billy being taught ballet, while there is a confrontation between plicermens and civilians who work in the coal mines singing "Slidarity" with a music really catchy . We can also take avantage with billy really touching when he is singing with a despair "Electricity".

 

Sets:

There are incredible and superb sets realised by Tatiana Macdonald with games of lights full of colors. It's amazing !

 

Context social:

Many coal mines were closed down in the mid 80s, especially in the North East of England and in Wales. Hundreds of workers lost their jobs. They went on strike to get them back. the 1984- 85 strike was the height of the protest movement.

 

Reaction of the public

 

The spectators are very surprised because this comedy is touching with lot of emotion. They find it surprising because it il also funny with humor.
